Artificial Insemination

We are a British Equine Veterinary Association (BEVA) approved practice for the insemination of mares using both chilled and frozen semen. 

We are able to offer secure stabling facilities for mares and foals around the time of insemination, as well as there being fenced paddocks for turnout. There are stocks for ultrasound examination of mares as well as liquid nitrogen storage for frozen semen. Many of these services are also available on your yard depending on the facilities you have available. 

Natural Cover

We are able to help with the preparation of mares for natural cover whether on a stud or for walking in to a Stallion.  Walk-in mares can be stabled with us and all arrangements with the stud can be organised.

Investigation of Problem Mares

At Ryder-Davies & Partners we are able to investigate the causes of fertility   problems in mares. Such investigations can include: manual and ultrasound   investigation of the reproductive tract, swabs for infections and biopsies of the uterus lining. In many cases it is       possible to successfully treat the causes of fertility problems.

Artificial Package Prices

To help manage costs we offer a package price for both frozen and chilled AI to cover one reproductive cycle.

Package Includes:

· Routine rectal ultrasound scans pre and post insemination

· Insemination

· First pregnancy scan at 16 days

· Taking any swabs or blood samples but not laboratory fees

· Routine treatment e.g. Ovulation agents such as Chorulon or Ovuplant, oxytocin etc. 

· Up to 2 days livery
